Streaminar

The problem

Streaminar was Stef van der Ziel's idea: a platform to host webinars that also stream live to social media, and to sell them. A host has to set up a session, schedule it, put a price on it and promote it, and afterwards see what it earned. That's a lot of steps for someone who mostly wants to give a talk.

Approach

I designed the marketing site and the app and built the front-end. The site opens dark, with one line about webinars for professionals and one button to create an account. The app keeps the same dark look. Its sidebar has two groups. Creative suite holds dashboard, webinars, schedule, stats, products and settings. Portal holds overview, page builder and followers. The dashboard shows monthly profit, actual against predicted views and the next webinars, with date, time and whether they're live or on demand. Creating a webinar takes six steps: general, webinar, schedule, selling, promotion and review. The last step lists everything you entered and flags what still needs attention before you publish.

Outcome

Website and app look like one product. They share the dark background, the purple-to-blue gradient on the main buttons and the same rounded outline buttons. The long setup is split into steps you tick off, with a review before anything goes live.
