The problem
DBK, short for De Beste Koffie, is an online marketing agency from Groningen that works under the name Fact Based Marketing. Their own site had to explain that idea to business owners and give them a reason to leave an email address. DBK came up with the concept. The design and the build were mine.
Approach
The homepage opens with a line chart and a large revenue counter: the turnover DBK and its clients achieved together. Client logos such as ANWB, Noordhoff Uitgevers, WestCord and dfb.nl sit right below it. Next comes a whitepaper on Fact Based Marketing that you download for free with your name and email. Further down is the sign-up for the DBK community, with access to articles, videos and books. The menu is short: home, about us, wishlist, vacancies and contact, plus a login for community members. I kept the palette to orange and warm grey, with one green for every action button.
Outcome
The page reads from top to bottom as one case: results first, then the whitepaper, then the community. On a tablet the chart runs edge to edge and the logos wrap onto a second row. The gallery also holds a later design for the DBK brand, with the Fact Based Marketing book and a choice between downloading and ordering it.
What changed
- A revenue counter with a line chart at the top of the homepage.
- A whitepaper download form on the homepage.
- A community sign-up with a login for existing members.
- Client logos directly below the counter.
